Djerba Aqua Resort ★★★★

The main pool was lovely and the staff there were helpful. The entertainment crew worked hard to provide a varied program. The beach was lovely and their restaurant/bar was good.

We booked a room with a double bed to be told they only have twin beds ... note, we paid extra for the double bed that didn’t exist! The food left a lot to be desired. The restaurant/bar at the beach closed at 4pm.

The beach is amazing on the stretch along the hotel which runs past other hotels/resorts.

Upon arrival first question was the room was booked for single occupancy, I had to show booking for 2 adults. Then the card machine for payment of the room didn't work so I was told I had to pay cash, I didn't have the cash. Instead of asking us to try again shortly or after we have settled into the room the reception said to go to a cash point and withdraw the money. We were pretty shocked, we were then escorted to a cash point in one of the other buildings and had to take the money out before the room was provided. The room smelt bad of smoke so when we went downstairs we left the key and asked if something could be done and if some conditioner could be provided as we only had shampoo, reception noted and said they would fix it, but then nothing happened. Staff in general were rude as we were only there for 1 night we did not have a bracelet like other guests but had a voucher card which we showed before given seats to the restaurant (we booked half board) After which a waiter decided to question me mid meal as he did not see a bracelet and insisted on seeing the voucher! Not the service to expect when you have paid 144euros for a 1 night stay. Dinner time appeared to be very short for the size of the hotel only 2 hours 7pm-9pm. Also no lifts!

- A very big Hotel with large rooms, reception, pools, Restaurants, Spa and gardens. - Staff is very friendly, reception and Restaurant staff are respectful. The reception area were always friendly made sure that we were satisfied and comfortable, they always greeted us when we passed by. We specially thank Murad and Hager. - There is a station in the buffet where they cook different types of meat, one day there was Seafood Calamari with Shrimps, the next day was turkey, the next was chicken etc... the buffet in general had different types of deserts, fruits, Mediterranean and western food. - The hotel is very good value for the money, and is in working progress. Even though it was not expensive (7 nights for family of 4, we paid just 390,-€) we still felt luxurious in the hotel.

- Booking.com states that the beach is only 200m walking distance but depending on the room they gave you, it can be more than 500m walking distance. - The water play area does not open in early spring and we think that they should put this information in Booking.com. We made reservation in easter vacation and it was closed. - The room was cleaned every day but it could be cleaner. - I think they plan to do more maintenance in the hotel but the shower hose was leaking when turned on.
